What is Space Vintage?

Space Vintage is a vintage clothing retailer, styling service, and design studio based in Toronto. Space is owned by mother-daughter duo, Ashlene and Natasha Roberts. They now have two locations, on Queen St W. and in Kensington Market.

What is your mission?

Space Vintage strives to be the go-to destination to find the perfect piece for a special occasion. Ashlene and Natasha work to inspire dreams, promotions, and elevation through fashion and styling.

What are some hurdles you have overcome?

One the largest struggles they faced revolved around the transition from in-person services to an online presence. Overcoming these challenges enabled the Space Vintage team to build an extremely resilient foundation, fortifying their ability to handle crises like the pandemic.

But for Roberts’ team, their mission extends beyond mere survival; it centers around fostering genuine care for individuals and fulfilling their unique needs. The Space Vintage store serves as a sanctuary for retail therapy, where lives are uplifted, and careers flourish.

“The support from our community has been incredible,” says Roberts.

What do you find most rewarding about the business?

One of the most rewarding aspects of operating Space Vintage has been the opportunity to support people by styling them for the milestones of their lives.

‍

“It's incredibly fulfilling to help someone find the perfect dress for a special event in their life. It's about living and growing with people. I've been there for people's prom, career highs, and all the way up to their wedding and maternity photoshoots."

Building community with customers and being a part of their style journey is truly rewarding.
